Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah The Second, King of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the 2000 International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT�2000) was held at Zarqa Private University, Jordan. The conference included presentations to 39 contributed papers distributed among 35 universities from 20 different Arab and foreign countries, and three state-of-the-art lectures by distinguished keynote speakers in the area of information technology. A panel session about the new challenge of information technology was organized during the evening of the first day of the conference at International Jerusalem Hotel, Amman. ACIT is a new refereed conference that act as an international forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of information technology.
